A Guide to Employers' Liability Insurance

This factsheet explains who needs to have employers' liability insurance, what it must cover and what to consider when choosing a policy.

Most employers are required by law to obtain employers’ liability insurance, which covers claims for compensation made by employees who are injured or become ill as a result of their employment. There are several exemptions to this requirement, such as family businesses that employ only immediate family members and are not incorporated as limited companies.
